Sound Healing – Joy, Play and Wonderment: Medicine of the Child Aeternus

This Friday we are working with joy, play and wonderment as we call in the archetypal energy of the Child Aeternus: The Eternal Child. The medicine of the Eternal Child brings us back into contact with our innate capacity to sense the infinite – to feel and see all things as an expression of the divine. The Eternal Child is a great companion for times when we are feeling weighed down by the physical world and our responsibilities in it. And is particularly helpful if we needed to grow up ‘too fast’ in our childhood years.

It reminds us to step back and see the divine in the everyday: To wonder in amazement at the leaves dancing in the wind, to be joyful for the diamonds sparkling upon the ocean on a sunlit day, and to be openly playful in our interactions with others. When we are in touch with the Eternal Child, and consciously chose it as an archetypal companion when needed – as opposed to being unconsciously driven by it – we can approach our life with this capacity to find joy, wonder and play in the simplest of moments. This in turn helps us avoid the shadow attributes of the eternal child also: which is ‘a lack of committed action for fear of being bound to anything’. For when we are finding the joy we seek in our everyday actions, we are focused on acting in the present, as opposed to awaiting some future fulfilment.
