Every seven years heralds a new beginning, a new phase of the medicine wheel of your life. Particularly significant ages are 21 – becoming an adult, 42 – a mature adult, 49 – the first 49 years we breathe in knowledge, wisdom and power then we breathe those gifts out and share them with the world, and 63 – becoming an elder.

Every stage of the medicine wheel of life, each seven-year cycle, is full and perfect if embraced and understood. In earth-based cultures these transition points were celebrated and you were ever more deeply initiated into wisdom, love and power as you aged. Everyone WANTED to be old for the respect and rightful position of leadership afforded to the wise elders in the community (very different from our youth driven western culture).
