Week Long Shamanic Training Level 1 - East Coast Hunter Valley

One Tribe run an accredited shamanic training school based in Perth. In 2016 we answered the call to condense our training into week long modules for the East Coast. We found the immersion of doing the training in a live-in retreat setting allowed people the opportunity to dive even deeper into this work and transform their lives even more powerfully. We have now completed Levels 1, 2 and 3 (including parts of Practitioner Training) as weeklong blocks and this is our third intake. The retention rate has been so high we have been able to go straight though without doing two intakes for the next level as we originally thought we would need to do. We could not be happier with the shared experience of all concerned.

This live-in bush retreat (41/2 star accommodation) condenses several months of training into one week. It covers some of the foundational techniques and skills used in shamanic healing including a Shamanic Initiation Ceremony, Animal Medicine, Past Lives, Soul Retrievals, Sacred Ceremony and Communing with Nature. It also provides training in how to be a pure channel for shamanic healing including a map of the energetic landscape you may encounter. It will be deep, transformative and powerful. This retreat is for those who yearn to connect with the sacredness of life and are ready to do the inner work required to serve their community and transform their own lives. One Tribe welcomes you on this sacred journey and are here to serve you.

There is a full ongoing program after level 1 if you want to really dive into it (Levels 2, 3 and Practitioner Training), plus monthly sessions online where you can meet the entire One Tribe family as well as opportunities to go on shamanic trips and other events (the next is planned for America next year!). It really is a supportive family that extends right across the country.

The training is held on an amazing property in the Hunter Valley (on top of a small mountain) - about 2 hours drive if coming from Sydney. It is totally plush accommodation (whilst it is shared rooms it is 4 and a half stars on a beautiful bush property). If you are coming from Victoria or Queensland fly to Newcastle (when you book you will immediately be sent an email with suggested flights to arrive on time - as at October 2017 the prices ranged from $55-129 each way) and we will organise some transport from there. The cost for the week is $2000 which includes your accommodation, all vegetarian food and of course the training. Payment plans are fine. If you have any questions AT ALL do not hesitate to call Mark personally on 0410 524 281.

Mark runs the training program and has been teaching this work for over 12 years. He is assisted by his own shamanic teacher of 20 years in Sue (Sue is the grandmother of One Tribe) as well as Sharon (Sharon is the loving Auntie of One Tribe!). Both are equisite elders in our opinion. Here is a video of Mark detailing what is shamanism from our perspective as well as how we teach this ancient healing tradition. https://youtu.be/q03HwHQ6huE. Here is a link to a video which gives an overview of the different levels and includes testimonials from a number of students on their experiences (the students range from Level 1 through to Practitioner training) https://youtu.be/KvuvpN7FEJ8. Here is a link to a video from the team with suggestions on how to approach the week to come: https://youtu.be/eSiVbTqSneU We really try to foster a loving, supportive, respectful, family type of environment for all concerned.

Day 1 Thursday 30th of August Shamanic Initiation from 1pm-8pm. The shamanic path is ancient. In its purest form, shamanism creates a bridge between the physical world and the spiritual dimension for healing, divination and transformation. During this powerful day, you will step into the medicine wheel where you will be physically initiated into the elements of earth, air, fire and water. You will also meet your spirit guides who love you unconditionally, and can powerfully support your spiritual growth and healing ability. By forming a relationship with them, you can deepen your connection to your authentic self and the sacredness of life. This is a profound and deeply sacred day one we treat with the utmost respect and love.

Day 2 Friday: 9am-1:30pm – Animal Medicine. During this session you will meet and develop deep relationships with your Animal Medicine Guides. For eons shamans have connected with and harnessed the healing and transformative power of their animal guides. These guides can open new faculties within us, expand our consciousness and improve our healing ability. You will journey to meet your animal guides as well as learn to retrieve animal medicine for other people. This is always a wonderful, magical and enriching session.
1:30-4:30pm – Lunch and break. We always leave a break after lunch to allow time for food to digest. Doing healing work and shamanic initiations on a full stomach is much harder than on a light one.
4:30pm-7:30pm – What it means to be a hollow bone. The foundational healing philosophy of the school is to be a hollow bone. This means to be a clear flute or channel for your healing guides and the power of nature to flow through you to help heal and transform yourself and others. We will practically explore what this means as well as begin to clear the obstacles that are in the way of you being a clear hollow bone in service to your community. Please note whilst the content of the morning sessions remains fixed, the evening content can vary depending on the needs of the group.

Day 3 Saturday 9am-1:30pm – Past Life Healing. During this session we will release past life aspects within us that are negatively impacting upon us in this life. Shamanic healing goes back to the root cause of a problem. This often means travelling back in time to heal and release shocks, traumas and losses from past lives. It is possible to isolate these past life aspects within us and clear the traumas associated with them. As a simple example we may have been persecuted in a past life for doing healing work. In that life, under extreme distress, we may have made powerful vows to ourselves to never do that work again to protect ourselves from future trauma and pain. This trauma can remain in our energetic system thereby blocking us from powerfully stepping into doing healing work in this life. It can affect our spiritual sight and healing gifts, our ability to promote ourselves as healers and our feelings of safety and confidence doing the work. By safely clearing that past life aspect and the trauma associated with it, we can overcome what were once deep seated and previously unexplained obstacles in our lives.
1:30-4:30pm – Lunch and break.
4:30pm-7:30pm – Map of the shamanic healing landscape. This session will give you an overview of the energetic landscape you may encounter whilst doing shamanic healing work. We will also practise the core shamanic principles taught in the school to diagnose and treat conditions from their root causes.

Day 4 – Sunday 9am-1:30pm – Sacred Ceremony. Ceremonial work is at the heart of shamanic healing and personal transformation. It is a powerful invitation to your unconditionally wise and loving spirit guides to support you to make significant changes in your personal life. Our guides can only support us if we invite them to; this is a potent way to do that. Once you learn how to do ceremony for yourself, and your community, you are empowered to truly take control of your life and make it sacred. It can help support you to make any transition in your life that is necessary. Everything we do at One Tribe is a ceremony which allows us to relax our control over our work and to allow the sacred energy of transformation to flow through us. During this session we will do a powerful healing ceremony. You will also tune in and get information for a personal ceremony to do at a later point in time to help you in your own life
1:30-4:30pm – Lunch and break.
4:30pm-7:30pm – Working with our healing Guides. Our healing guides are as unique as we are and they specialise in different healing techniques. In this session you will meet your healing guides and learn their specific skill set. You will also do some healing work in groups using the core principals taught the night before.

Day 5 – Monday 9am-1:30pm – Soul Retrieval. Shamans have long specialised in soul retrieval work. In order to survive and get through a traumatic experience, part of our soul or spirit can leave our body. This is one of the reasons many abuse victims do not remember their traumas until a point in their lives when they are actually ready to deal with it. Whilst this helps us to get through a trauma, it means we are not operating at our full capacity or power if that soul fragment does not return. We can be left feeling ungrounded, disengaged, have a poor immune system, feel flat, depressed, fearful, have gaps in our memory, become prey to addictions and so on. If someone says after a particular incident they have just never quite been the same since, this can be a case of soul loss. The shaman’s job and expertise is to find and bring back these lost soul parts. This can give us an enormous boost of energy, power, clarity and confidence. Soul loss can be caused by any number of incidents knowing that what one person considers traumatic can be very different to someone else. Equally, trauma at one age can be totally different to another. Common examples that may cause soul loss are car accidents, abuse, shock, illness, combat, addiction, loss of a loved one, divorce or break ups etc. During this session you will be guided to find and retrieve lost parts of your own spirit. This is a very powerful healing session.
1:30-4:30pm – Lunch and break.
4:30pm-7:30pm – Gratitude ceremony. We will do a powerful and sacred gratitude ceremony to honour our time of learning, growing and sharing together. We will also continue to practise the healing techniques we have learned over the week.

Day 6 – Tuesday 8:00am-11:45am – FINAL SESSION; Communing with Nature. Shamans and indigenous tribes have long been able to commune with all elements of nature. During this session we will spend time on the land connecting to and communicating with the spiritual energy that moves through and maintains it. We will also learn to communicate with the rocks and trees. We will learn to hear and interpret the clear messages from nature. Approached in the right way, we can all do this. This is always a sacred and mesmerising session of exploration and discovery.

What plane to catch from Melbourne and Brisbane

We have structured the retreat to begin on Thursday the 30st of August at 1pm and finish at 11:45am on the 4th of September. The first day is an incredible day and really is imperative you attend. To get there from Melbourne and Brisbane we recommend you fly to Newcastle airport (or fly to Sydney and some fellow students may give you a lift up which we can try to help you organise). Depending on how many people are there we will organise transport for you to get to the retreat venue about an hour’s drive away (this cost is not covered in the fees but can be split by the group). If it is a small group, we will organise someone to pick you up from the airport by car without charge. To get there in time there is only one flight per day. If you fly to Sydney there may be more flexibility with times as people may be able to give you a lift.

Melbourne to Newcastle: Fly Jetstar which leaves Melbourne airport at 6:15am on the 30th of August arriving at 7:45am. Price as at 9th of October 2017 is only $55 one way. nt out the directions supplied from the retreat centre as reception can be difficult to get for your GPS or lead you in the wrong direction!

Take the Sydney - Newcastle (M1) Pacific Motorway - previously named F3 expressway (north towards Newcastle). If using a GPS system please ensure you also follow these instructions as the GPS can often lead you in the wrong direction.
At the end of the M1 (lots of ridges in the road indicate the end of expressway), travel straight across roundabout and turn left onto New England Highway, travel through East Maitland 7.4 kms from end of Freeway, turn right into Melbourne Street @ traffic lights; 0.3 kms along Melbourne Street, Left into Pitnacree Road – changes name to Flat Road; 4.7 kms to roundabout – turn right and follow signs to Paterson 14.0 kms If you need to use your mobile phone DO IT NOW as phones can be patchy coverage until you reach the top of the mountain. Then 8.0 kms to Vacy - Turn left immediately after Vacy Bridge (single lane bridge) - Summerhill Rd. Travel 5.2 kms along Summerhill Road – then turn left at large Eaglereach sign. Travel to top of mountain, (4.0 kms) sharp left turn at Eaglereach Sign, then 2.0 kms to Banjos through Eaglereach Resort. Especially when driving at dusk or evening- PLEASE KEEP A LOOK OUT FOR KANGAROOS AND OTHER WILDLIFE. The road through the Eaglereach Resort is gravel - PLEASE travel along at the RECOMMENDED SLOW SPEED.
Follow the road past many lodges on both sides of the road (approx 1 km) then around to the right into Goanna Grove (away from the large maintenance shed). Down the hill almost to the end on the right (just past Caddishack Lodge which is to the left) you will find a sign BANJOS BUSHLAND RETREAT. You have arrived!!!
